This is the ground bass of his view of the world during the cold war, and we can still see the truth of it even in the post-cold war era that Dürrenmatt never really got to know. Meanwhile, Claire observes the town from her balcony at the Golden Apostle as a mob of Gülleners hunt down her escaped black panther. The press is then ushered out of the auditorium to enjoy refreshments.
